The Call of the Coyote

Can I tell you? 

Can I tell you of a place where spirit and matter meet in the bodies of women? Would you hear? Would you listen to the spaces between the words?

Can I tell you about the healing power of gathering? Would you understand the mirror of looking into another woman's eyes and " just know"?

I want to tell you about beauty, magic, mantra, yantra, and the smell of the desert when it rains.

I want to tell you of mindfulness and presence. Of understanding not analyzing.

I want to tell you what women are like when stripped bare of cliches, stereotypes and comparisons.

Can I tell you of the joy that emerges like the sun rising in the east spreading her warmth on those who would turn their face to be warmed by the vibrant rays? Would you turn your gaze?

Can I tell you we all were daughters? Children of the earth, air, fire and water? Would you hear? Would you let the wind carry your soul?

Can I tell you of looking up at the night sky, hearing the midnight voices whispering in my ear that brighten the stars with such ferocity that it crushes like a lover upon me?

Can I tell you of laughter so rich, so pure, it crumbles all rigidness, belief systems, and sterility into sacred ash?

I want to tell you these things.

Things of laughter, nourishment, and tears of epiphany. Things of relationship, communion, purification and ignition.

Would you hear the coyote call?

Would you fear the jumping cactus?

Would you hear the rattle of the snake when she comes?

Would you risk being claimed by these things

and become the Lover of all that exists?
